Every so often, my friend Keaton will say "It's all Christmas and kittens" when speaking of something being just ducky -- actually, that's another phrase of his... it means things are good.
And this makes sense to me because Christmas and kittens are two of my favorite things in the world, so putting them together -- well, obviously a recipe for happiness isn't it? Now, if you're a dog person or maybe not someone who celebrates the commercialism of Saint Nick or the birth of Jesus, then maybe another holiday and puppies would appeal to you more.
But for me, I'll stick with Keaton's version. Why do I bring this up? There's a reason, and I'll get to it, probably in the next post, but just felt like writing something since I haven't posted in eight days. Eight. That's a number that keeps popping up. Realized the other day that I've been living in my current place for eight months. And I've yet to unpack. Seriously -- most of the house is settled, but my bedroom... it's like I moved into a hotel and I've been reluctant to use their closet or dresser drawers assuming that living out of a suitcase is quite normal. For eight months.
I digress. Surprise. No, seriously... I wanted to post today and while there's currently room for improvement when it comes to my state of employment, there are moments in my life that remind me that, really, things are good. Things are Christmas and kittens. Moments when everything is so clear that you don't even have to think about it. You just know. The past few days have been like that for me. In the grand scheme of world events, nothing extraordinary happened -- but in my world, something did.
I'll leave you with that today. Don't worry, the who, what, when, where, and why is coming soon. It's not that important in this post to know them now. Just wanted to post about finding happiness in the everyday life.
Look for another post tomorrow. For now, it's finally time to unpack.

Great expression! And I'm glad things are going so well... but man, what a tease of a post! Update, please.
