Frackin' Amazing

Created by. Story by. Written by. These are credits. For movies, for television... these are the words I'm aiming for the most to sit next to my name on screens from coast to coast. Of course, fun stuff like Executive Producer is pretty cool too (but that usually implies you have a bunch of those Written by credits stacked up on your IMDB page).

Been writing quite a bit as of late. Finished that play and now my focus has shifted to a spec pilot that me and my good friend Michael are writing; and I'm also deciding which current shows I want to spec as well, you know, to show Hollywood what I can do. That's what you do, apparently. You pick a show, write an episode, and there you go -- it's like an audition piece. You can pitch all you want and talk a good game about how to write for television, but talkin' ain't doin'. So it's the spec. A calling card. And now I'm choosing which shows I feel I can tackle. Which shows I say I can write.

One of my first choices will be "Battlestar Galactica".

This is probably old news to most of you -- but if you haven't seen "Battlestar Galactica", then I would recommend renting -- no, buying -- it and sitting down to watch this great television show. I'm talking about the new one, the new series that's on Sci-Fi these days. I've just finished up season one and eagerly anticipate watching season two as soon as I can get a copy. They're already heading into season three, so I'm playing catch-up here.

Another show's bandwagon that I'm jumping on two seasons late is "Grey's Anatomy". Yes, a completely different show that BSG, but that's good. If I can write one of each, and write them well -- more than well -- then fete me, I might just get one of those credits I want so much.

I suppose I should get to writing then. Can't earn credits just sitting here eating pasta and watching the X-Files movie.

Not much else to say today. It's been some time since I posted and I thought I should. Oh, and for those who noticed, Lucid Voice has been deleted from my links. Lucidity took down her blog as she's insanely busy these days and the blog was just sitting there. She said if she starts blogging again, she'll let us know.

Incidentally, I think it's hysterical that the spell check on my blogging site doesn't know the word "blog". I'll just give you a minute to fully take in that irony.

Doesn't know the word "blog" --- frackin' amazing.

On that note... try to keep cool if you're located anywhere as hot as it is here and I'll see you all in August.
