Look at that blue. Like a fragile blue ornament just hangin' on nothin'.
At sometime, close to 4:00 p.m. EDT here in Ohio, the lights will fade to black on one of the greatest theatrical experiences of my life. I'm actually not sure how I feel about this yet. Sad, yes. Even nervous for some reason. Maybe a little numb. It's just so hard to think that we're already at the finish line when it seems like we just got started.
There's a speech in the play ("Darkside") where one of the astronauts is talking about Earthhe's looking at it from the surface of the moon and he says, "I bet there's not one person down there who realizes how lucky they are."
I realize it.
This show has been a wonderful gift. To work with the people I worked with, to get a chance to take a script, see it in my head, and then find an amazing cast and crew to realize it on the stage... damn lucky.
In less than an hour, I will drive out to Curtain Players. I will sit back and enjoy this show for the last time in that theater. It's gonna be great. And probably a little bit emotionally draining for me. Seriously, there could be tears.
I'll wrap this up tomorrow, after the fact. Not quite ready to give the show its fantastic send-off. So until next time...
You did very well! contgrats on a wonderful success! may you have many more!!!
